it's a hell of a thing killing a man
video installation / 2008

In a quiet, intimate attic space fitted with chandeliers and an old wooden floor, white canvas have been stretched between some of the beams in a corner. From inside that box, a video is projected onto the canvas just above the floor.
The video uses a scene from the film Unforgiven, directed by Clint Eastwood. As in the previous piece I Don’t Mind Takin’ a Cab (2006), the original sound remains untouched but this time nothing visual has been kept from the film and the artist reenacts both of the main characters on screen. Each shot has been framed and edited according to the original film.
While the original sound atmosphere is of a wild and windy outdoor space, the image shows the calm and white interior of the corner of an apartment.
This little piece of film re-lives again in a corner of our head, before getting lost again.
